The frozen vegetable industry has been around for decades, taking market share from the canned vegetable industry, and more recently taking share from the prepared foods industry too. Traditionally this industry segment grew and prepared its own ingredients. Currently the focus is on “value add” or creating the recipes, but not preparing the ingredients. Commercial Manufacturing has been a leading supplier in developing customized mix and blend systems that include tote dumping, cluster breaking, metering, weighing, collecting, and delivering recipes to the packaging deck. The sharp focus today is on making these systems as sanitary as possible allowing for a quick and verifiable clean to maximize food safety and production hours.
