Cap
A raisin capper is a rotary device that removes the short (cap) stems from free falling raisins. The moisture level of the fruit is most important in achieving a high percentage of stem removal without damaging the fruit, and it depends on the variety of raisin being processed.
  • Rotary device run on VFD to control paddle speed
  • Replaceable rubber paddles on rotating cone
  • Replaceable rubber liners inside outer jacket
  • Specialized liner design highly effective at removing cap stems from raisins
  • Adjustable gap between paddles and jacket liner
  • Most cleaning lines pass raisins through at least two cappers
  • Effectiveness is increased when raisins are processed at optimal moisture level
  • Separated stems are removed from process flow by scalping shaker
